About Selous Game Reserve
Selous Game Reserve, recently renamed Nyerere National Park, is Tanzania’s largest protected wildlife area, covering over 50,000 square kilometers. It is famous for its diverse ecosystems, including rivers, lakes, miombo woodlands, and savannahs.
The reserve is home to vast populations of elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of antelopes. It also offers incredible bird watching opportunities with hundreds of species recorded.
Selous is ideal for adventurous safaris, including game drives, boat safaris on the Rufiji River, walking safaris, and photographic expeditions. Its remote location and rich biodiversity provide an authentic, off-the-beaten-path African safari experience.
